BCPR has its roots traced back to the inception of the semiconductor industry, with involvement in the office environment, selling and repairing electronic memory typewriters, as featured on BBC1's Tomorrow's World in the late 1970s. Having been part of the IT industry's evolution, from the introduction of word processors to the first IBM-compatible Personal Computers, BCPR staff were among the pioneers in building bespoke Personal Computers to order.
